My power windows worked today - but why?

My power windows worked today. That is odd because my driver side window became intermittent early in the Fall and then stopped altogether. But today it worked just fine. Of course, the only that has changed is that the temperature was almost 60 degrees today (very unusual here in New England). Any ideas?

Check you window switch (behind) the door panel. There should be a rubber boot covering the switch terminals preventsing moisture from getting in there.

the switches go bad, work sometimes then not and back again...a new switch will generally fix it. beware however that the new switches you can buy have a different texture than the old ones, so you may want to buy 3 and replacea all so they match.

In my car when I had intermittent windows it was from the wiring to the power drivers seat grounding out on the floor pan. Maybe something to check.

Do you have a sunroof and does it work? In my '86 Carrera, both the power windows and sunroof worked intermittently and then stopped working. This was corrected by replacing the power window control module located behind the instrument cluster. The telltale sign for this was that there was no power across the terminal in the fuse box. In my case this was an easy fix, $38 part and it was accessible through the luggage compartment.
