4 Run seesions = Car won't start?

I just did 4 15-20 minute run sessions at Willow Spring's Int'l yesterday. When I tried to start my car to drive home the starter didn't engage? A friend told me that heat often kills 911 starters, is this a common problem? My temp was always right next to redline at the end of sessions. Checked fuses/ battery - OK Car was push started.

Turn key, and only a whirring sound. Cluster lights strong.

Can someone help me?
