Blower motor and shroud removal question

Hey all, I just removed the blower motor and the shroud that attaches to bottom of the engine bay floor. All went well except now I have an opening on the left side of the enging where the heater shroud was.
Question 1: do I need to cover that area up with a smaller shroud or something?


....and an opening going into the heat exchanger.
Question 2: what is the best way to close the opening on the engine bay floor going into the heat exchanger?
