Anyone near Columbus, Ohio willing to look at a 911 for me?

Hi there,

The quest for my first Porsche continues! I'm wondering if there might be anyone out there that would be willing to have a look at a car in the Columbus, OH area for me? If you'd be willing to help out, please let me know and we can sort out some details.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,
Dave

Details on the car are required so we can criticize your selection. Current hockey status leaves us in a mood to crap on all things Ottawa related.

Ha ha!! Thanks PBH, the car is an 85 Coupe, Grand Prix white with about 87K miles.

As for hockey status, cheer up, maybe you guys will have something to cheer for if Balsilie brings the Predators to Kitchener or Hamilton!

GO SENS GO!

Cheers,

Dave

Price & Pictures would help. Just off the top of my head I'm thinking it's roughly $15,000? But I could be way off depending on condition.

I would suggest you find a reputable Porsche dealer in the area. Someone on this BBS will know of one. Then pay for a PPI yourself. I don't think you should buy it without a PPI. It would be a few hundred dollars well spent.

Get a compression test or leakdown, look for accident damage and rust issues. Have it there overnight amd make sure it doesn't smoke when they start it up in the AM. I guess it's a G-50 car, so you don't have the 915 tranny issues, but it could need lots of suspension work at that age.

Did you find the car here, or another Porsche website?

For what it's worth I hate the Leafs, I would cheer for Montreal first, then Ottawa, Leafs are #30.

You can PM me if you want to call me with questions about the car or importing a car to Canada.
