Any SCal Pelicanites driving to NorCA?

Hi all:

Is there anyone driving to norther ca soon from LA with a truck? I purchased some parts from a guy in Redondo Beach and if anyone is coming North soon maybe I can pay for your gas and little of time to save over trucking fees.

If so, you would be carrying two bumpers, a valance and two rockers for me, so a truck or a trailer would be needed.

Second to that, anyone have any good luck shipping via a trucking company?

thanks,

mike

Greyhound is your best bet, but if you're paying for all my gas, I might be up for a trip. I still think you'd be better off with the dog.
Email me if you don't think so.

Well, this is a little OT, but mission accomplished. The beginning of the adventure involved picking up the parts in Redondo Beach. Turns out they were sourced from Gary Auberlen who is credited with the building of the motor on the cover of Wayne's book, How to build and Modify Porsche 911 Engines. Gary is also Bill Auberlen's father. Bill is, as many may know, a current Grand Am driver, past Grand Am champ, AND a current American Le Mans driver. Gary, of course, is a retired race driver of many accomplishments. So, the visit to the Redondo shop was a treat. the walls are covered with the best racing photos I've seen in awhile. (It's a speedometer service shop in Redondo for anyone who wants to look it up.)

Mike spotted me all the gas to drive 940 miles over the weekend exploring the Sacramento Delta region, San Francisco, Santa Cruz and much more.

All in all, a blast. Maybe I'll start a hobby "Will drive for gas." LOL

It's been over a week without a thank you to Milt for all of his and his wife's efforts bringing the parts up from southern Ca... Milt, please excuse me. Work still hasn't let up - this weekend was our anniversary so the two of us took the Boxster for a drive up to Fort Bragg for the weekend.

I used the opportunity to drive Hwy 20 too fast. Funny thing was that I would be going around a corner - then I'd come up on someone driving slowly (read that carefully) and I would slow down fast (causing the front end to dip a bit) which would set off the horn in a chirp-chirp (seems there is a loose connection) nearly every time the person would immediately pull to side (no easy feat) and let me pass. Brandi and I were in stiches - I am sure every person we passed this way was pissed ($###@&^% Porsche Owners!)

It was great meeting you and your lovely wife, I hope you two had a great time. I can't thank you enough for your help.

Next time you are in the area I'd like to get together for a longer visit.

Oh yeah Milt - I measured the funky door, it's the same as the good one... great
