Alternator Wiring Connector?
 

Well, I'm at the stage where I can drop the engine/tranny without referring to Wayne's books, don't know if that's a good thing or not!

I've done a tear down and rebuild and I must say one of the biggest pains is removing the alternator wiring!!! I find it so tight in there, while the engine shroud is pressing down on my hands, trying to remove the air cone from the alt, etc.

Wondering if anyone has simply attached a connector on the harness so you don't have to remove the air cone while the shroud is still on? I would think that would be a nice simple wear to avoid this hassle? Seeing that I am tearing down the engine again, this would be a good time to do this, if it makes sense.

You don't want any connectors in there- any junction is prone to failure or developing a high resistance due to corrosion. Also, the wires actually act like a heat sink for the alternator.

It's best to stick with the factory harness and lubricate the grommet to give yourself some slack.
