Mid-Market 911 Values - According to Excellence?
Anybody looked at the recent values of the mid-market 911's published in Excellence magazine this month? They look way too high from what I see in the market. Don't get me wrong - I am the owner of one of these cars and I would like to think my car is worth what they say it is but these numbers are not consistent with my perception - what do you think?

Yeah, I couldn't get $12k for a car they say is worth a minimum of $15k. (..or was it $14k? Still..) But I guess these numbers are based on actual data, so somebody is paying a lot for these cars!

The folks in Excellence can say whatever they want, since their numbers are (reportedly) reported by private buyers and sellers, who in turn can say whatever they want. If you want a more realistic number, check completed items on ebay, and refer to magazines that report on classic car auctions like Sports Car Market.

Excellence numbers are BS. I do not think that they have reasonable statistics. They pull a number out of the hat. It's high so the average buyer of the rag (Porsche owner) feels good about their money pit.
![]() I must say though, I feel that all the 911 cars have picked up in value over the last couple of years. George |
