Another A/C question - LONG
 

I have an '87 3.2 and just recently replaced the front condenser & fan. Leak checked and cleaned both the evaporator & rear condenser. Replaced the receiver drier and all the old hoses with a Griffiths barrier hose kit. I also purchased a remanufactured nippon denso compressor. Took my car to Lucas Auto Air in Van Nuys and had it evacuated leak tested & charged with R12. The A/C has not blown as cold as I expected and now the compressor is flinging A/C oil all over the top of the deck lid. I've also noticed oil dripping from the A/C hose connected to the R/H side of the rear condenser. This is basically a new system right? What went wrong? Was my system over charged with freon? Was my system not evacuated long enough? What are acceptable high side pressures for R12. Its almost like the system on the high side blew the front seal of the compressor & the o-ring on the R/H side of the rear condenser. HELP I've spent over $1200.00 in parts & service with little success. :mad:

A compressor flinging oil means you got a bad rebuild or it was blown.
Pressures: my system is 260/35 with 30oz R12 and a ProCooler. The shop should have on record what the pressures were.

Does Lucas know specifically air-cooled Porsche A/C? Were they aware that you have to recharge the system with the engine lid down or it can blow the system? (Some folks put a large fan on the rear condenser to achieve the same thing).
