New Carpet Installation Instruction Help
 

Just recieved a new complete sliverknit carpet set from GAHH through the gentleman who is going to install the new GAHH leather seat covers (also from GAHH). The carpet set came in a box with no instructions. Recommended for professional installation only! Does anyone have a set of instructions that they could e-mail or post? I've been reading a number of tech forum postings that have great pictures but wanted to see if anyone had an official set of instructions to help me avoid any pitfalls, etc.

You can do it without instructions by carefully removing the old carpet, starting with the piece "on top". Note exactly how you remove it and the last piece you take out will be the first piece you put back in. From your pic you can see that the center hump piece and the two quarter pieces are the first two to be installed, followed by the lower seatback area, then the piece below the back seats that meet the tunnel, etc. Just take your time and clean up the metal after the old carpet is out, and test fit each piece before applying any adhesive.

FYI, the hardest pieces are the two map pockets up near the door hinges.

I used 3M spray on interior adhesive, but others have had good luck with a brush-on adhesive (alot less mess than the spray). Good luck!

im in the middle of replacing my carpets and actually will finish up tomo morning. i didnt use any of these guides, its pretty straight forward if you just reverse what you see. i did one side at a time starting with the front carpet pockets as they are the last one to get overlapped. thing is, you have to remove the carpet starting at the back to get to the front (why i did one side at a time for reference). i took my time and test fit everything and it looks great. oh and i bought spray and brush on glue and i used brush on for everything because you can put it exactly where you want it and do little pieces at a time. probably took longer but it was worth it. good luck.
