Road Trip
My son and I completed another road trip to Northern Indiana and back over the weekend -- 1,300 miles total.
The car ran flawlessly and the A/C worked great. So fortunately I had no need for the many tools and parts I had packed, including two fan belts, spare airbox, CD box, clutch cable, fuel pump, relays and more (I'm not sure whether I'm driving a car or a parts store). Outbound on 70 north just inside Pennsylvania: ![]() The westbound approach to the Allegheny Tunnel on the Pennsy Turnpike: Some westbound rest area around Cleveland on the Ohio Turnpike: ![]() On the return trip at a rest area on 70 south near the Pa.-Md. state line:

You know that if you didn't pack those spare parts, you would've found yourself in dire need of them.
![]() BTW, it looks like some nice exercise for your SC.

Sort of makes me miss the turnpike and all of the joys of I-76, except for the ocassional wreck that will halt traffic for hours.
The S-turns must have been fun! -Matt

![]() Matt, there's been a lot of straightening out of the Pennsy Turnpike's twisties over the past several years. There are still some left, but it's not like the old days. The Allegheny Tunnel approach from east to west is still fun since you're coming downhill into the turns. Our cars eat that up. Funny that you can go 1,300 miles through five states and the only other Porsche you see the entire time is a modern one on a car carrier! Brian |
