Don't wanna look it up - ?Chip equivalent for 80 sc?
Like most of youse, I work on the P-car in between too many other things to do -- and after 10 hours at a job. So, spare me the chastisings for not checking the historical files or reading the books to get technically smart. BUT, what's the technical reason there's no performance chip equivalent (like Wong's) for a 3L 911SC? -- you know, an instant boost like all the threads about how Wong's chip does wonders? Thanks for any indulgence.

The SC injection system (CIS) does not use a chip like the Motronic system on a Carrera 3.2 does. It uses mechanical inputs to change the settings instead of electronic ones.
Therefore you can't swap the chip since there is none in the system. The CIS is not an easy system to extract an "instant boost" from. You can change the heat exchangers for SSIs and maybe change the cams to 964 ones, but the power gain will be limited. If you need more power you can change the CIS to carbs or increase the displacement, but there are no "quick wins" |
