sandblasted my fuchs.
after much experimenting I found a finish for my fuchs I like. I masked off the outer rim, leaving only the black exposed and sandblasted them. used black 'tuf-cut'. also did the lug nuts for good measure. I tried clear coat but it darkened the finish too much for my taste. so I left them raw. Don.

I like the look, but I would strongly advise getting a clear-coat on them. Try a satin if you don't want a high gloss. The aluminum is going to start oxidizing, even faster now that you have increased the surface area. You will also be catching break dust in all the areas. I would bet they don't look like they do in your pictures (which look really great) in a year.

I'll try the raw aluminum for a while and see how it stands up. it's not the finish on the clear I don't like, it just darkens up the raw alum too much. if it goes ugly I can just blast again and clearcoat. easy. I also run metalmaster pads so dust isn't a big issue.

You can use "flat" clear coat. Call your local paint store
