Door Stop...Fabricate New One...Any Interest?
My driver door stop is broken. The end of the "rod" (long flat piece of metal) with the pin through it inside the door has broken off. Its been that way for a while so i bought what i thought was a replacement. I think i got it from Pelican but am really not sure. Turns out the mechanism is different (the broken one has springs and the new one doesnt) and the two mounting holes dont line up. I think it is for a later year car.
Ok so i searched this site and cant find the right one. Does anyone know where i can get one? Also, I went to a metal fabrication shop and they say they can make a new one for about $100 becasue they have to program a water jet cutter. Making more than one however would be very easy at that point and not much more expensive. If I cant find a replacement for less than $100 I would like to gauge interest among Pelicans to see if anyone would be interested in this piece. By the way, the piece I am talking about has a big lobe on the end with a pin, not a straight one. Brian |
