Price check - Optima

I just bought a group 34 Optima for $135 with whatever warranty adjustment was left in my 4 year old Interstate 49 monster battery. I'm told the price of lead has almost doubled in a couple years.

I paid $150 for an Optima Red Top at my local Murray's auto parts. Three years ago, I bought the same battery at costco for $110

It's probably increased in proportion to metal prices.

I'm heading home to install it soon. I read about the cutting board concept but may opt for some 1/2" cedar planking I already own, the kind you soak in water, slap fish on then cook in the barbie.
Anybody else feel compelled to install wood in their 911? The door and floorboard panels just don't seem like enough...

Maybe a spruce ducktail?

$145.00 for a SC35R for my 968) Seemed a bit "stiff" at the time, but no rust and never wanted any!
