G50 clutch slip?
I had a new clutch with fork upgrade done approx 5K Km ago. I have not autoX since. On two occassions however I felt the clutch slip under load (heavy acceleration). The first time happened in second gear going up a gradula modest incline; the second time happened today in first gear whilst squeezing the gas from 3500 RPM to ~5000 RPM making a left turn. I fest it slip slightly and got confirmation of a whiff of clutch smell on both occasions. What's up with that? I thought these G50s were strong! EDIT: What might be the cause?

Did you do the clutch cross-shaft retro w/ the new arm? Did you put in a rubber center clutch, replace trans imput shaft main seal and flywheel side crank main seal? does it drip any lube? hypod or oil? Clutch slave free and has the clutch been bled?
just some thoughts. did you replace the flywheel or have it machined on a lathe? I know my mind works overtime on this while you are in there projects. Keith Epperly 87 slant nose tUrbo look CARRERA CABRIOLET |
