Electrical odometer/speedometer problem
 

Okay, so I just bought an 84 carrera cabriolet a week ago. :D I start driving it the next day and realized my odometer stopped working.:( I took my car directly home and parked it in the garage. I then ordered the odometer gear that the forums state always goes bad. I take the speedo apart to find the odometer in perfect working order. Nothing is broken/corroded/stripped. I turn the gears and the miles start increasing.:confused: I put it back in to see if there was a loose wire and drive to the end of my cul-de-sac (1/8th mile). Now the speedo isn't working either! :mad: Any ideas?
