oil thermostat (in wheel well)
Since my old motor spun two rod bearings, I am in the process of completely cleaning out my oil lines before hooking everything up to the new motor. I have taken the thermostat apart, and need to know the correct orentation of the piston... the bigger of the two... The steel cage has two oval slots in it, and I can not remember which way the slots face.... or does it matter?? Thanks

Vash, I appreciate the help...but I already know how it goes in the car... what i was trying to find out is part #8.... it fits in the bore with the piston facing inward. What I dont know is the position it fits in....in other words, think of a clock...what position is 12 o'clock? Part #8 has two oval cut holes in it. What position are they suppose to be clocked at??
Thanks for posting the diagram, it will help to let people know what part #8 looks like....
