Transmission - When Hot.

My transmission and gearbox becomes increasingly more difficult to work with as my car get hot. When cold - perfect. When hot, tough to get her into 1st, and the feel of the pedal is not a nice. As well, sometimes, even with the clutch pedal pressed to the floor, every once in a while she wants to move forward..

Any ideas? I already bled the system, no air in it, and I changed the tranny fluid as well.

Cheers,

Jack

Is your clutch cable adjusted right?

I dont know, my mechanic said that my clutch is a non-adjustable clutch (1990 964 C2).

???

Interesting...

Well,

http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/911_clutch_cable/911_clutch_cable.htm

Last two paragraphs unless you have a sportomatic transmission... I am not familiar with C2, unless its a hydraulic clutch.

If it is, then it might be the Clutch master or slave going out. Check around for brake (hydraulic fluid) leaking beyond the floor mats on the metal and such. I am not sure where these hydro master is located, et al.

Good luck.

Hey Nick,

I already bled the slave and changed the tranny fluid...still no improvement. If the car is cold - perfect...but once hot, the gearbox gets really hard to engage in 1st and the clutch pedal gets funky and inconsistent...

Any help would be great..

check the clutch cylinder and the slave cylinder, one of them is leaking down, has to be. Here is a cheap trick, pump the clutch pedal quickly then try to put in gear. If better we know what it is. Next push in clutch drop in gear and leave clutch pushed in, if car starts to move after a bit, same end result. I has to be in the hydraulics for the clutch/slave cylinder.

Good Hunting !
