Parking Brake Light ISSUES

I can't get the parking brake warning light on the dashboard of my '76 911S Targa to go out!

I installed new calipers and bled the brakes many, many times JUST before a track day and noticed on the way there that the light was on even when the brake was released.

So far, I've adjusted both the switch screw on the brake lever and the parking brake pads, but neither had any effect (although the 'clicks' are now within spec, again).

I suppose I should mention that JUST before the track session, I also rebuilt the pedal box. (IT was abusy time!) So, I had the master cylinder plunger and brake light switch out during that time. I do know that I also have to now adjust the point at which the brake lights at the rear come on and there appears to be some shared wiring between the two.

Anyway, any ideas? Thanks!

That warning lamp is used for more than a reminder the E-brake is on ... it also can signal a failure in the dual master cylinder!

More than likely, there is a reset switch on the master cylinder that has to be pushed in after an alarm condition is triggered during the bleeding -- zero pressure in one circuit, and full pressure in the other. The switch plunger is plastic, and protected by a rubber boot ... so be careful not to break it off!

Hmmmm ... I thought that was only indicated by way of the idiot light within the gauge itself ... and also only came on when the actually pushing on the brake pedal.

It's true, though, with the new front caliper switch-out would certainly have applied to both dual circuits.

NEW LIGHT ISSUE!!!

Thanks to Early_S_Man I found that I did, indeed, have a tiny reset button on the master cylinder brake switch.

Now for the new problem ... the parking brake light goes out with the other idiot lights even if the brake is set!!

HELP! The car is sold and the buyer would like to pick it up on Friday and I want it to be right!
