Front Wheel Hub Diagram - Am I missing parts?
I was looking at the front Wheel hub/strut diagram and noticed two items that I know I do not have (O-ring #23 and Spacer #24). I have had the front hubs off several times for various reasons (bearings & rotors) and always repack the bearings and replace the seals. These two parts were not there the first time I removed the hub and I have never used them since. I imagine they are there for a reason but everything seems to work fine without them. I track the car 5-6 times a year with no problems that I can see.
Anyone else have or not have these items? What do they do? Car is an '88 Carrera.

I think the "spacer" is the metal ridge that the bearing seal fits over, and the o-ring is under that. I never noticed but apparently the spacer is not part of the spindle, it is a separate piece....... If I understand things correctly.........
I would have sworn the spacer was part of the spindle but I never really looked that close. Next time, I look closer, which I hope not any time soon.
