Exclamation Any Experts? Carrera Fuel LInes???

Does Any Know what the size of the hose (inner diameter) is that runs from the return regulator to the dampener and then from the dampener to the return line?

I am am also assuming the rest of the supply lines are 3/8" if that is the case what would happen if I made the above two return lines 1/4"???

Thanks for the help!!!

jcc911,

I don't know what size they are, but I do know they are metric. An auto-parts store generic 3/8 or 1/4 hose isn't a proper fit. You don't want a fire back there.

I'll look in my shop manual and see if they spec any of that.

I just changed all the lines in both my 73 911 and my 73 914. I am pretty sure all the 911 are the same but I can be wrong. 1/4 is what I am using on my 914 for the return line, that would be too small for the 911. You can get away with 5/16 for your return lines and 3/8 for your feed lines.

The dampener (pressure regulator) to the return line is low pressure. I used a slip fit connection with quality hose clamps like NORMA.

Buy some metric fuel line from Pelican or from someone in the quoted thread.

Thanks guys for the response!!

The reason I ask is that I am replacing and fabbing some of the 3.2 intake fuel lines. Now, the plan is to go to a local hydraulic hose shop and I have found that the metric fittings they have are built for a hose that has an ID of 3/8"

The fittings on the rail and the two regulators are all 16mx1.5 which will accommodate a 3/8" hose. However the two fittings on the dampener and the one on the return line are m14x1.5. The do not have a m14 fitting that will accommodate a 3/8" hose only a 1/4" hose.

Will this work??
Thanks Again! J.

I cannot be sure if the 1/4" will work, but I'm pretty sure mine was converted to a nipple and I use 7mm soft line on the return line. That is just over 1/4" 7mm / 25.4mm.

See if they have an adaptor to convert to a nipple.

Doug

Here's what I ended up with. This is the goodridge setup we came up with finally. One thing to look at is the flare inside of the hose fittings. We found some domestic companies have the wrong internal flare. I'll look up the fitting numbers and pm you with them. The biggest thing I ran into was it takes about two weeks to get them. Also, the return line we used is a -5 bradied and hose clamped to the nipple on the return regulator/damper.

I think I will be ok with these hydraulic fittings as the inside of the female fitting is a bull nose end, which should seat nicely with the existing lines.

Also I have that dampener bracket off of the intake and the id of those fittings is considerably smaller than the ID of the other lines so I am thinking the 1/4 line may also work.
