ST Seats & Harness Question
I have now fitted my Rallye ST Replica seats, and will shortly have the rear cage installed with a harness bar.
I have a query over which harness to fit. I do not believe there is sufficient room for two shoulder straps to pass through the headrest stays and then split to go over the shoulders - does anyone have these though ? Pictures of harnesses and seats (without individual harness holes like recaro spg etc.) wanted. If I go for a 3 point harness, then the single belt splits in to two thinner belts over the shoulder and looks better, but I really want the crotch strap. Therefore, I really want a 5 or 6 point, but need it to go correctly over my shoulders. I was also told that a pair over straps passing over the back of a seat, or through the headrest could in an accident pinch (crush) your neck - thoughts ! I really want the right setup for safety as well as my early lightweight theme. Thanks, Ian

Ian, I have the same set up,with the 2" Sabelt passing through the head rest stays.
I have no problems at all, my harness are fasten at the original fixing points on the side of the rear seat, therefore in case of strong tension applied the tendency is to pull the stays apart not to crush the neck,I think (hope). ciao Simone ![]() Last edited by giuliemma; 06-22-2007 at 11:35 AM.. |

I have the BF torino Rallye seats and the Sabelt Autocross 3 point belt passing through the headrest over a harness bar and to the rear belt point. Works fine, but then again I haven't tested them in an accident

Simone, do you have 4,5 or 6 point?
Can someone explain what an H belt is and any advantages? What is the advantage of 2" or 3" belts. Pictures please. Ian

Booked in to Tuthills - Schroth Rally Cross !
After a long conversation with Richard at Tuthills (thanks to him as it was late Friday and he had cars ready to go to a Welsh Rally), I will be taking the car there to get the cage and harness mounts done, as well as having the seat lowered.
Harness belt to be confirmed, but looking like a Schroth Rallye Cross with ASM. Pictures and update to follow when done. Ian
