87 911 Targa 3rd Brake Light

Does anyone have a solution to to repairing the 3rd brake light on a 87 911 Targa? The snap on assemlby has recently been replaced but will not stay in place and keeps coming loose. Short of glueing the piece in place or wedging something beneith the light I am not sure what else I can do. I understand that the light was relocated to the window top in 1988 because of this faulty design in 87.
Any suggesations would be appreciated.

I am having the same problem on my '87 Targa--the wedge shaped light keeps coming loose and falling out of the bracket which sticks to the bottom of the rear glass.

Any solution out there on how to keep it in place without permanently gluing it in?

Thanks in advance.

Oh yes, I'm having the same problem. It was suggested to me to use that soft double sided tape on the corners of the frame, but I have not tried it yet. As of now, I have a peice of decorative plastic wedged under the light frame thus pushing it and holding it in place.
