Alpine Blackbird Navigation System Install
Purchased Blackbird Nav system about a month ago and just completed installing the docking station in the trunk and hooking it up to the 7.5" under-dash LCD screen. The size & extent of the wiring harnesses for the dock and LCD screen are not to be believed. Fortunately, only two wires go to into the cabin (LCD connect and GPS antenna lead) and the I was able to contain the huge mass of wires in the trunk.
Location of the touch screen makes it easy to operate while resting hand on the shift knob. Next mod - DVD player for road trips! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1182696672.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1182696752.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1182696812.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1182696881.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1182696949.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1182697015.jpg |
Nav sytems are the electronic equivalent of asking for directions, and therefore they are just plain wrong.
But I can understand why you would do it and once you hide away those wires you'll have a nice installation. And who doesn't mind getting lost when they're driving a 911? |
911 is my daily driver and I use the nav extensively for work ....real estate (collateral) inspections.
