Fuchs strangeness; crosspost from turbo forum
Look at these wheels. The front one is a 8JX16 part# 91136102045 and has the fox stamp. The rear is stamped 7JX16 part#91136102044 and also has the fox stamp. Look at the difference in width. The 8" appears normal but the rear that is supposed to be 7" is far wider. It measures 10.50" outside lip to outside lip. Remove 1/4" per side and that still leaves about 10". Is this a modified wheel? These were on the car when I bought it. Any ideas?

The contours look too rounded on the wider wheel. And the factory 9s don't have that lip going up to the spokes.

the rear looks like one of Gary's (Sonjay) wheels.
7x16 widened to 9". lip steps are different (smoother) than Fuchs you can see the section that was added in the reverse picture Bill K

I like 'em. Nice wheels.
I agree with Bill. The 7's have been widened. |

Yes they are the wheels that we made for the rear of the RSR we took to Le Mans I sold all but four. Give me a ring and I'll tell you more about them.

Yep, widened 7's. I have three of these. Not sure what to use them on but I had them all stripped, polished and anodized. Cool wheels!

Many thanks to Bill (bkreigsr) for pointing me in the right direction and to Gary (Sonjay) for giving me more details tonight. Apparently, they are one set of ten made by Gary Stratton for the Le Mans Classic. They are 10" wheels made by cutting off the back of a 6" wheel and welding it to the front of a 7" wheel. They were made for the RSR they ran but were never run in the race. Only 2 sets ran in the race and he has those. Kind of cool.

What would a set of these be worth?
Thanks, Capt. Crunch
