69 Marelli problem

We have spark going into the distributor but none to the spark plugs. Is this a cap or rotor problem? The points look/test good .....Thanks

Do you have the Bosch CD unit? Permatune or other CD unit? Standard Kettering ignition?
You rotor has a rev limiting mechanism built in - that could be open. Contact between the rotor and the center (coil) wire could be a problem. Do you get 3 sparks from the coil each engine revolution? If so your problem is inside the distributor, if NOt your problem is points, CD, coil.
Bottom line - you need to give a bit more info to get to the bottom of your problem..)

Thanks for the response. The sparks are constant while the engine is turned over. This is an early 1969...only Marelli, no auto vac advance or Permatune, etc. Standard issue ignition for this vintage. The coil was replaced Wed. w/Bosch blue. As said, nice spark from coil.....dead at plugs. Cap and rotor look good. Would this set-up have a rev. limiter in rotor? Points are new and test out fine.

"...As said, nice spark from coil.....dead at plugs. "

That indicates the point circuit is working.

Somewhere between coil wire and spark plug you have run out of electricity (to coin a phrase from a Top Gear presenter).

What's between?
Distributor cap
Rotor
Spark plug wires
Spark plugs

If no spark to any plugs, then look to the component provides all with spark? Rotor is one.

Check the rotor continuity with an ohmmeter. It might have an open circuit.

Is the distributor cap functioning? Check the coil wire button underneath. Have you replaced any parts lately that could have changed the rotor-to-distributor cap relationship?
