K&N's or watershield kit for MFI?

Is anyone aware of where to buy a K&N filter or watershield kit for an MFI set-up?

Buehler? Buehler?

As with most things this has been covered in great detail on the forum. The short version is that there is no air filter set-up that you can buy for MFI. You have to modify the various systems from the Weber set-ups.

I've seen Webers using the stock MFI aircleaner, so it's safe to assume you can use the watershields on the MFI's?

It's safe to use the MFI's air cleaner on the MFI. The watershields will have to be modified to work on MFI. Do a search.

Really?

I think it's a mod if using plastic stacks and a bolt on if using Mag stacks.

Motor Meister advertises the water shield with K&N

And K&N has something here I haven't seen before...

My understanding is it depends on the application. Putting K&Ns on my motor and had interference with both the barometric cell and the cold start thing-a-majig on the left bank.

Tried the Weber K&N's on my 70S MFI. The right one fit just fine, the left side had interference both with the fuel lines coming out of the pump - don't want to be bending those around_ AND with the trip lever on the linkage for the fuel shut off solenoid.
I chose NOT to futz around with the oiginal pieces, and went back to the factory aircleaner assembly....

The "Watershield" feature isn't of much use for MFI, provided you use velocity stacks. The "hat" is there to keep water from the upward facing vents found in carbs. Use of the type shown eliminates the need to modify the left air cleaner lid. I agree with what others have said about modifications. I had to offset the left filter about 3/8" to the left, which means I had to notch the stacks to clear the allen bolts that secure the studs that hold the filter assembly together. I still haven't figured out what to do about the microswitch. You will need to shorten the lever that activates the switch. Helpful hint: if you cut the lever, leave a little nub protruding upwards from the pivot. This is where a throttle return spring acts on the lever. I cut mine clean off, and made a nice, smooth, radius before I figured this out. My spring has an extra half revolution of preload as a result, which it doesn't seem to like. I did a really nice job with the radius, though.;)

I hear that the wail of the MFI through these filters will make it all worth while. I haven't run the motor yet, so I hope this is true!

I had a set of watershields installed on a 72E MFI system years ago, the "wail" was worth it.
