Oil Line Damage - Don't let this happen to you!
A couple of weeks ago I noticed that the oil line bracket shown in the first photo was broken. With a DE in two days I rigged the replacement shown.
Today I was replacing the leaking timing chain cover gaskets and tensioner o-ring and noticed this damage to the oil line from rubbing on the heat exchanger cross over tube (see second photo for close-up). This is the hard line that goes from the driver side of the engine to rubber/hard line on the passenger side. I also noticed that the bracket I made was a little longer than the factory backet and may have contributed to the damage. I am not one to take chances with the oil lines and will probably replace, but I was wondering if I could even consider filling the damage with J-B Weld. (flame suit on). Regardless of the answer, if anyone finds this bracket broken, don't put off repairing it. It would be a shame to loose your oil (and possibly the engine) because of a broken $2.50 bracket. ![]() ![]()
