Does anyone have the latest 912 prices from Excellence handy?
Looking for the High, Average and Low prices for a 1967 912. Thanks, Ed

Just like the 911's its a tough estimate. I have a 912 with a 911 engine, I have been offered more than a 66 911 would sell for mainly because of the engine and chassis work mine has on it and I prefered to keep it. I also have seen 911s sell for well under market on ebay. Of course I am just talking SWB. I can give you a good estimate though.
All of the following assume running and driving condition, if it doesn't have that then I would recommend adding cost of repairs (parts and installation labor using a shop that you would have do it if you didn't or can't do it yourself). These are just what I have seen in east coast prices, obviously from time to time someone buys a great $2,000 car but we can't use that as a market indicator. $6,500-$8,500 for running but needs rust repair that require painting like rockers, lower doors, lock posts, windshield frames and such $8,500-$10,000 for running but needs simple rust repairs that don't require paint work such as floors, pans, torsions. $10,000-$15,000 for running very well and looks good from a distance but has interior and exterior blemishes $15,000-$30,000 for original untouched cars or very well done cars. Prices can and have been higher than $30,000 too. Remember if the engine and transmission both need rebuilding that the 912 engine is easier to work on and very simple. Parts aren't as expensive as 911 parts either and theres less to them. The main thing is going to be machine work if its got to be rebuilt. |

EarlyPorsche has got you started, and you will find numbers all over the map. The 912 market is moving up and I don't know if the Excellence prices are accurate or not. My only comment from being part of the 912 community also, is the cost of a 912 rebuild is not necessarily that much cheaper. Certain parts are scarce (ie. some main bearing oversizes), and top rebuilders are busy. They are not VW engines. Bottom line, in my opinion, consider a 912 engine rebuild as a significant piece of change in estimating the value of a car. Ask the 912 Registry site about quality rebuild costs, you might be surprised.
