Oil in intake manifold

Last week I dropped the engine (993 Vario) to replace my tranny..and take care of some other minor issues, when I notice that there was oil on the intake manifold rigth after the throttle butterfly. I was quite a significant amount, forming a small oil pool.

I read other posts suggesting that this could be due to over filling the oil tank, but is there any way to prevent this from happening.

I really don't recall having overfilled the oil tank...but I can not assure this!

Are there any other potential causes for this?

Thanks

Clean it out....make sure ( from now on) that the oil is not overfilled ( ususally fill to the middle level on the gauge or dipstick)...then re-check later if you see new oil accumulate there. You might be lucky to see that it does not re-appear which would mean the original cause was only from overfilling.

I appear to have a light fil of oil all through my intake from the previous owner overfilling. What is the best method to clean this out. Is there some spray that works well to spray into the intake so the motor can burn it off?

>>>Are there any other potential causes for this?<<<

Crankcase Blowby (to some degree... normal).

Possible Overfilling
