Chinese Fuchs - Worth a look?

I saw these at Performance Products show room and they do look good. Bummer, only in 16" but the price and widths available are nice. Just wondered if anyone has some feedback about these?

They look beautiful, but how are they made. They're not forged--am I right?

Seems the poster thought 16" were a bummer. The wheels posted by Moses are alternatives from a known, quality manufacturer.

John: You are correct. They are cast.

Garage
We had several clients that race on them with no problems in several years of use so far. They are heavier than oe fuchs, but sure give good value for the price.

they make them in 7,8, 9 x 16 widths

This is an interesting statement given the recent commentary about the unsuitability of wheels such as these for track use.

In which classes were the cast wheels being run?

I'm really only concerned with their street reliability not tracking them.

rota has been in the wheel manufacturing business for decades now. their wheels are very durable as they have been tested time and time again under off road rally conditions and the rough terrains in the phillipines. their quality is exceptional and can compete with other popular wheel makers such as enkei, panasport, cromodora and more. if weight is not a concern, then their wheels are your best bet dollar for dollar for street, off road and race use. my .02 cents

Hi Moses,
I hope you don't might I ask several questions.
1- Proximately when will they do 17x10x8 for wide body conversion.
2- On the other thread, I saw someone wrote that Rota also make pressure cast wheel, on those with better market. Do you think these Rota-Fuch will ever get there? Soon?
3- What kind of warranty comes with these wheels?
Thanks.

Hi benji,
please share with us about your test.

Subydude states that the wheels are gravity cast and that there are no plans to pressure cast them in the future, regardless of sales volume (if I understood his reply to my query correctly).

I'd guess that pressure casting would be more expensive and result, therefore, in a more expensive and higher quality wheel which would perhaps exceed the budget of those interested in the wheel as currently designed and priced.

The Chinese made Fuchs look-alike claims to be low pressure cast and, if so may be a superior wheel the Rotas due to the denser, less bubble and void prone casting.

I don't know if the Chinese wheels cost more than the Filipino wheels which are certainly bargain basement priced at $1000 per set, nor do I know the history of the Chinese company casting the wheels.

In either case, caveat emptor when buying cast wheels of any brand for Porsches, Porsche O.E.M. wheels notwithstanding.
