If you have no voltage while cranking either the sensors are out of adjustment (most likely) or they are both bad (unlikely since you had 1000 ohms)
The best thing to do now is to check it at the Motronic plug (harness side).
There’s a spring steel clip where the wires enter on one side of the plug, push it away from the plug with one hand while pulling on the same side of the plug with the other hand, the plug is hooked on the other end and needs to be pulled from the wire side first.
Check for voltage while cranking the motor at the 8&27 and the 25&26 connectors.
If you have no voltage, pull the drivers side tire and see if you have access to the sensors, set them to .75mm or closer, the closer the better, just make sure they’re not touching.
You’re close to solving the problem…

Success at last! I checked the Ohms at the ECM-still over 1020. (Way easier than trying to check it at the plug on top of the motor). Voltage still at 0.

I figured I had nothing to lose so I loosed the bracket to the sensors, pushed it all the way in, found a small line on the bracket and positioned myself to have the line to line up with a something else. Moved the bracket out just a hair and tightened it down. It fired right up! http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat3.gif
I can see the finish line from here. Alternator is making some noise (I think the tension from the new belt is affecting it) but the voltage is stable at 13.9-14.0. Motor idles fairly stable. I had about 10.5 Qts in there (I had 11 in there but lost some when I had to drain it out when we figured out that we didn't put the ring gear on the press plate (duh). It didn't read on the stick when warmed so I've added another Qt just before I finished for the day. Prob 1-2 Qts more to go.

I was pretty sure it had to be the sensor adjustment.
Be careful that your belt isn’t too tight, there’s a total of 6 shims that need to be installed to adjust the belt correctly, some go between the pulley halves to adjust the tension, the rest go underneath the nut to keep it from bottoming out.
