What is this connector?
The picture is in the front left portion of the hood area. The connector has a brown and yellow wire. There is a white plastic connector that will reach (isn't made up) and fit that has a brown wire and a white/green wire.
Three questions: 1. Do these belong together? 2. What do they do? 3. Is that black ring from heat damage? (Perhaps that is why it was disconnected) Thanks, Brian ![]() |

Looks like the wire to the headlight washer pump. Pump is in the main reservoir in the fender just behind the left headlight.
Mine has the black ring, too, and the system worked fine before I removed it for weight reasons.

OOPS !! 1985 911 Targa with AC
Sorry, some critical info missing. I believe that it is AC related as I think I have everything else working. It is definitely not the windshield pump, that has power.

This is just forward of the battery, correct? If so, that's the headlight washer pump. There are no electrical components to the A/C in the driver's fender well, where this is leading. The coloring of the wires (yellow/black and brown) is consistent with the headlight washer pump wiring, also (from the factory diagrams). |
