Yet another item to R&R. Question is: what causes it?

1) Old mounts?
2) Stickier tires?
3) The planet Mercury in retrograde?

Remedy: factory mounts and reinforcements.

Who else has this happened to?

Combination of all three

Happened to me, driver's side only, on my targa with 235's on 7 x 16's

wevo rear sway bar mount

my strap didn't fit correctly so i tweaked it. Then I found out the SC or Carrera strap is different than mine and a perfect fit.

Second Ronin-go with the Wevo. Replaced mine 6 months ago.

4) Too-stiff sway** bars for the shocks & springs.

Still had original mounts in my 77 when I sold it in 2003. Spent at least 10 hard years on the track, but PO had put in very stiff shocks & springs.

Mine didn't tear completely in two, but it was definitely torn. It had also been welded earlier by one of it's PO's.

Replaced with OE upgraded butterfly reinforced mounts - both sides - and no problems since. Okay, it's only been a couple of thousand miles, but hey.

Happened on my targa after my second autocross, but I drove around for a couple of weeks wondering what the clunking sound was before I decided to take a peek underneath. I went with the WEVO mounts.

Ok, I meant to type swaybars. Seems like common 1st upgrade is larger sways, without addressing the rest of the suspension.

WHEW!! I thought I was heading down this road for a second.

That of the modifying the already perfectly designed, no compromises, they knew what they were doing, 37yr old, new technology doesn't matter, I told you so, suspension.

Can you tell I'm increasing my spring rate?

I'm thinking of reinforcing my mounts before slipping on my 18mm sways even though the stock mounts were good enough for the Dr.
