Oil Pressure Switch, 3.2 85 Carrera

The low oil pressure light in my dash gauge did not light while starting the engine. I checked and discovered that there is NO oil pressure switch, I do not know if the previous owner deleted it.
I think this is a very important safety feature and should be installed and connected.
The engine is a 3.2 from an 85 Carrera.

I checked in the Bentley manual and it needs an adaptor to be installed. I also checked at the Pelican catalog / diagram and it shows an adaptor, a 9mm steel ball, a banjo fitting and two washers.
Please help me in identifying all the parts needed to install the oil pressure switch. Do I need the banjo bolt? What is the function of the steel ball?
I thought I only needed the oil pressure switch, two washers and an adaptor.
Thanks for your help

Don, are you talking about #1 in the picture? That is the oil pressure switch. You only need one adaptor. Chances are, you already have it on your motor. The PO must have had a leaker, and simply screwed in a bolt to "fix" the problem.

Rusnak, yes it is # 1 in the picture. You are right PO fixed it with a bolt.
I want to correct this. But while I was trying to order the parts I found a different
drawing

Check parts 45, 50, 51, 49, 42 and 41. Are these the parts needed or there is something wrong with this diagram?

don, that is a dangerously misleading diagram. Look at #42. It is show listed with two completely different part numbers.

I think we can safely say you need # 45. The other stuff just doesn't look right. There is no banjo fitting, only one adaptor. You need to take off the air cleaner box, carefully disconnect and remove the air meter sensor box, and poke your head back there to see if you have the adaptor still installed (I'd bet you do), or is the bolt screwed right into the crankcase?

If you need the adaptor, I can recommend a guy who will help you get the right part(s).

rusnak, Thanks for your help.
I already checked and the bolt is screwed directly to the cranckcase.
I agree with you the diagram is not correct, it seems it mentions parts of the chain tensioners mixed with the oil pressure switch.
Please PM where can I contact the guy who can get me the right parts.
Thanks again.
