I find the TotD about as interesting as an autocross in a post-office parking lot. What is the fun of driving 30 and constantly cranking the wheel? It would conceivably be a bit more fun if there wasn't constant opposite-direction traffic, but even then it's just a carnival ride. Beats me...I've done it twice, and the first time watched the 18-wheeler in front of me drive its trailer real wheels entirely, totally atop and across the trailer loaded with two Harleys being towed by an opposite-direction F350. And it all happened at about 20. Not a pretty sight.

I did it last November - no leaves to block the view and no early morning traffic. Got in several runs early and did exceed 30mph by a big margin. Great fun

I do like the road from Fontana Dam to the Dragon also - sweeping switchbacks with longer straights. That is more to my liking but the Dragon has some very nice corners.

Pick you time and you can have a ball. There will be a big Porsche gathering there this coming November also (second annual).
