Spark Plug Gap
 

I have 1976 930 (twin pluged) and it is time to replace the plugs. I purchased the same ones (Bosh XR4CS) on the car and I need to know if they need gapping. the guys at Pelican say the plugs come pre-gapped but to post this question on the forum to see if there is an application in addition to for further gap. and if any necessary what is the gap size.

The factory created a gap as part of their manufacturing process - no gap = no spark.

However, it wouldn't be unheard of to drop a box and change the gap. Why not just double check it before installing? This procedure might take 3 seconds/plug and a couple of bucks for a set of wire gauges. Don't forget a minute dab of anti-seize on the threads so the aluminum material stays with the cyl. head next time you remove the plugs.
