A/C Conversions
I'll try to post this again. New at this. I have an '88 Diamond Blue Coupe. I am looking to update the A/C to R-134A or other environmentally friendly refrigerant. I see several systems advertised in various publications. Some are pretty extensive, others are somewhat more abbreviated. Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated. (p.s. it only gets over 100Fdeg for a few weeks a year here, and the climate is dry.)

Do a search. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1184359502.gif There are dozens of threads on the board about a/c upgrades. Search for my name, Jim Sims, Hugh R., brcorp, mthomas58 and many others.

Rennaire
Scott, go check out Rennaire. I just bought a Sanden condenser for my 78 930 and it made a big difference. I will have to charge it every spring as the origanal ac hoses are very poruous-i didn't buy the whole kit as i'm in NJ and it's not a daily driver. The whole kit sells for $1200 or so. It's expensive, but seem to be the best a/c kit out there. Porsche wasn't really known for their a/c units.
best, Paul. |
