964 turbo - strange noise
I was adding oil to my warm, running 964 turbo. After adding a quart and getting the appropriate level, I shut the car off.
There was a strange noise coming from above the passenger side exhaust that went on for 10-15 minutes after I shut the car off. It sounded like there was something boiling or a little like popcorn popping. Any thoughts on what it might be? Thanks.

My guess is the oil returning from the front oil cooler through the thermostat. Mine makes kind of a gurgling sound in the return lines. Buy one of those cheap stethoscopes and put the probe on the oil line or oil cooler thermostat when it happens again.
