Missing at start-up

I have tried using the search key to solve my problem but I just can't find my situation. When I start the car cold and attempt to accelerate the engine will not fire. It sputters and just won't go. If I rev the engine, it will rev but if I hold at a constant RPM it sputters. This goes on for about 4 or 5 minutes then I hear a mild pop and the engine runs perfectly from then on. What gives? Any advice. Thanks.

check fuel line connections to make sure they are tight; you may be leaking presure. It's free anyway and should be checked everyonce and a while. especially the clamps that go from fuel pump to tank. Does the car start up fine after driving for some time or when it's warm?

Yes. Once the car gets past this initial problem at start up, it runs and starts just fine from that point on. I guess I should also mention that I drive it only once or twice a month and it sits in my garage most of the time.
