If you do a quick search (the search button is your friend) you will find that there is a lot of controversy on whether to chip or not to chip. As you can see from my signature line, I have a Steve Wong chip. I love it.
The big difference between a SW chip and the cheapie "one-size-fits-all" chips out there is that Steve will customize the chip to your car's setup, the octane of gas you can obtain, and the kind of driving that you do. There are many reasons why this is good and one of them is better performance.

I don't know about you Joe, but for $35 I think it is worth unleashing the power of my turbocharger and ridding myself of that pesky speed limiter!! |

Steve W's chips are top notch. He spends way too much time on customer service, not a good way to make money. My brother drove my 84 pre-SW chip and again about a year later post-SW chip and he said words to the effect of "Did you tune this thing up or what? A year and one drive later!

Just think about it...In normal life...you get what you pay for...why there is so much diff. in price between a Ford Fiesta and a Porsche 911 Turbo ?...Don't waiste money and time...go with SW.....!

I don't think I would put an unknown chip in my car and risk doing permanent damage to the DME or even the engine. In the scheme of things 350 for a chip known to do the job is not that much.
Replacing DMEs and such will be much more costly.

Steve Wong for the 3.2 chips seem to be "the bomb". Never used it but have heard nothing but good things.
Pelican sells the "No Bad Days Racing" chip for the non-varioram 3.6.....I use it as does our poster boy Jack Olsen....
