3.2 hot idle issue

rebuilt engine:
starts cold fine
idles cold really rich, about 400rpm(black smoke)
warming, starts to hunt
warm, not hot it won't idle at all, still really rich
running it seems to be not full power

We have checked for vacuum leaks and can't find any

While testing things with ignition on, not running:
idle control valve piston pulses about every 2 seconds

Donnie, if you have not done so check the distributor cap and rotor.
Also check the CHT.

cht is new, the cap and rotor are also very recent.
