curoswiss - very nice and tastefully understated. I really like those wheels. What size and make are they?

Edit: never mind. I clicked on your RSR link. :)

Have to admit that I'm mostly a fuchs kind of guy, but those wheels look great with the car. Nice job!

Thanks guys. Here are a couple more pics. I'll see if I can get more of the 996 style tail.

Before spacers... The rims are just temporary until I choose the permanent ones.

Looks very nice.

If you get some wheels with the proper widebody offsets and widths and are interested in selling those send me a PM.

Looks like a great job. To complete the backdate, I would respectfully suggest using period-style rearview mirrors.

Hoooooooly nice ride....superb looking...Congrats.

Looks sweet. Here's a vote for Fuchs -- maybe the 9x11x17-inchers Moses has championed.

I'm curious; what's the reasoning behind the tail? Why not just go with a traditional ducktail?

Or is that the GT Racing one that takes uprights and a wing? If that's the case, then I'm on board with the idea. ;)

I run a regular ducktail:

But I've come up with a way to add uprights and a wing for track days:

I also bolt on a chin piece for track days.

(Sorry to clutter your thread with my pictures, but it looks like we're going for something similar.)

curoswiss. nice looking ride. Can't wait to see it driving around in the fair city of vancouver

curoswiss 07-17-2007 03:05 PM

Jack - Yes you are correct it's the GT Racing one that takes uprights and a wing... ;)

I'll post a pic next week after I've mounted the wing. It looked awesome when test fitted can't wait to see it now.

Wow. Another neat RSR clone. Looks good curoswiss.

Gogar 07-17-2007 06:46 PM

Is that turn 8?

Johnb911 07-17-2007 07:29 PM

Hey, nice work!

Where and who did your paint and body work?
I see you are in West van

curoswiss 07-17-2007 10:00 PM

Johnb911 - No I WAS in W-Van. The X still is tho... Guess I need 2 update that... lol

The paint and body work was done by Edward @ Adept's Autobody in North Van www.adeptsautobody.com

Edward has extensive experience at working on Porsches and has more and more Porsche business every year. He is also a master at Fiberglass (due to being from Poland). And that's important when working with a body kit. Especially given the fact that nothing fits 'quite' like it should. In fact Edward is doing a bare metal resto on my 71e (my baby) starting Aug 27th.

I will soon get high res pictures so you can all see the quality of work he does. The lines and spacing is perfect. Believe me when I say I had 0 intent to have the body and paint look so good. But after we got into the project I had NO choice but make it perfect.

Gotta love those Pols.....

'Jack' - Ya I've been drooling over the 9x11x17 Moses had made for quite some time. However I'm still not settled if the car wants Fuchs!!!

PS. Guys I love my polished 15 x 6 Fuchs on my E. I'm a huge Fuchs advocate. I just don't know about the Clone...

Latka 07-18-2007 03:34 AM

Looks like the corkscrew at Laguna Seca to me. I can't count high enough to tell you if it's 8 or not :)
