oil pressure for 72 911T

oil pressure check.

Is 57-60 correct reading for MFI 72 911 T when the speed is 65mph with 3300rpm?

I think the manuel somewhere said 5000rpm with min. 70 on oil pressure guage.

Thanks!

Your pressure reading sounds fine to me.

Porsche Crest

At what indicated oil temp?

Early cars spec [at 5000 rpm] was 5.5 - 7.0 kg/cm^2 = 78.2 psi - 99.6 psi @ 80°C, or 176°F ... a bit lower temp than the cars typically ran! Yours sounds fine if oil temp was 180°F, or above.

Around 1981 ... the temp spec was raised to 90°C, or 194°F, and the pressure range was lowered accordingly.

My 911T (1969) has a oil pressure of 4 when the oil is 176°F and 4.000 RPM.
But when the is oil 210 °F I only have a oil pressure of 3 with 4.000 RPM. Is that a problem??? I'm running 10W40 Syntetich oil in the car.

Oil pressure of 3?? Do you mean 30, at 4000RPM? Sounds way low to me. Have you checked your oil level recently (at temp, on level ground, with the engine idling for at least 30 sec.)?

Here's where my '70T runs at an indicated 205 degrees. I think the timing may be a little too far advanced, it was about 80 degrees F out on this day. The idle oil pressure is indicated something less than 10psi with this temp.

Maybe the cam oil line restrictors would help the oil pressure?

I'm running 15W40 dyno oil.

That's fantastic oil pressure. Don't worry about a thing.

If it was 30 PSI, maybe you would want to be concerned.
