Porsche Crest oil weight for 05 997S in california

Does anyone seem to know the oil weight needed for an 05 997S?
i Can't seem to find info in manual or any records indicating the weight.
Alos, is it normal for a 997 S to burn through enough oil in 7000 miles to register a blinking bar below the optimal "normal" range?

I noticed this in monterey over the weekend as i was driving back to LA.

i stopped and added a quart of 0W-40 in the interim

I've put 7000 miles since mid april.

any help is appreciated!

Thats exactly what happened to me at 7000 miles. That is nothing compared to other cars. It only burned a quart and much of that was during break in. I used 0W-40, nice and light so it gets into the tight tolerances and also thick enough to protect. Now this is what I was told to use in my 06, perhaps your 05 calls for different but I doubt it.

thanks.
i guess i forgot to mention i now have 30,000 miles.
but i guess the 0-40 oil is still the right viscosity.
i also found out that the difference between the bottom bar and top bar indicators in 1.2 quarts.
does it seem like a lot of oil consumption for a 23,000-30,000 mile car??

You MUST use the 0w-40 product so the Variocam hydraulics work properly.

thanks!
it's amazing how little documentation is in or on the car to support an owner's oil needs!
