That, and I've been holding off on buying new tires for my 6's and 7's because the Rota's are on the way. Now my tires are on their last legs, and it makes me more impatient.

Still, all kudos to you, Moses/Mark.

Yeah, not really insane. Certainly, I wish they would arrive 'tomorrow', but that's simply because I can't wait to see them in person and on my car. Like Derek said, kudos to you Mark. Thanks for everything you did to get the ball rolling, and working with SubyDude and Rota to get them right!

That does't say anything about #2 RSR polished finish - polished lip and petals w/ flat black inset. Any word?

I am glad this thread is still around, I was going to order a set of wheels this week with polished lips and pedals. I had picked out the tires I plan to mount on them and was ready to sell off my 16" Fuchs.
I will wait now until they become available.

The famous Jim Bauer of Odyssey has an SC! :-) Good to know there's a few of us here who count both BMX and Porsches as fun activities...

Maybe I should add my Volume Ardelean with Odyssey Race forks, evolvers, modulever, and Hazard wheelset to my sig. And maybe I should also add my very recently acquired DC PK Ripper no. 113 :-)

not involved in any way, either as a maker/seller or buyer, but a 200 discount seems like a nice advantage to me...

Anyway... I'm actually bringing this thread back for a reason.

Has anyone gotten their Rota's yet? Jim, I know you orded the Hyperblack, so they would have been first shipment if I'm not mistaken.

I don't have mine yet, but I'm not surprised in the least. I changed my order to the polished lips and gloss black centers.

I posted this on 8-3-07:
__________________________________________________ _____________
I got an e-mail from a sales rep (?) from subydude.com today telling me that the #1 and #3s should arrive in the US sometime next week and ship out then. The #2s should arrive a week later.
__________________________________________________ _____________

That means the RSR finish and the silver lips w/ flat black centers should have arrived @ Subydude and shipped out to customers by now. My guess they'll start arriving early next week. The polished lips and petal style should arrive a week later. No word on when #4 (the finish I opted for) will ship. I can't wait to get mine!

Anyone got theirs yet? Any confirmation on shipping from subydude?

I just ordered my Goodyear F1-GS-D3s from Tire Rack for my new Rota Fox 17's. I dropped-shipped them to my favorite tire shop in Windsor, CO.

Thanks again Moses!!!

Being a nubie to the P-World, is there any precautions (tricks or processes) that I should take to insure that there will be no wheel damage (scratches etc.) to my new wheels or to my old Fuchs at the tire shop?

My 6's and 7's are original and pristine and I want to sell them...I think? So, I want to keep them in pristine shape for the next owner and I certainly don't want any problems with my new wheels.

Also, is there a real need for valve stem supports on the new wheels? I don't have them now and I don't like the looks of them much.

Just wanted to say that I just had a set of these tires put on my car a couple weeks ago.
I am not too impressed by them. They're like driving on butter - sort of "squoogy" They slide around and howl a lot during Autocross.

Are they Squoogy for all your driving or just during Autocross? I'm just a street driver, no AC or DE.

What size did you put on?

Jerry

(sorry to Hijack thread)

Not really sure about street driving, as I don't push that hard around corners on the street. They're maybe a*little* squoogy, but not bad. I can say that after 4 autocross runs, they looked visibly worn, as they were sliding around so much. They do tracks ruts in the roads a bit though...
They were 205/55/15 and 225/50/16

There are some in-car videos from that day, and you can hear the tires howling.
Run1
Run2
Run3
Run4

For a good read, here is the thread about the day I got the tires.

Wolfe - How many miles did you put on the tires? Some tires are a little greasy when you first get them as there is some residue left from the molds. After several hundred miles, they burn off. Also, don't forget about tread wiggle on new tires.

My apologies for the high jack too....

When I bought the car the PO had put on Yoko Avid V4s tires on this 87 and they had about 750 miles on them. I noticed that on wet surfaces and high speed dry cornering they seemed spongy and I felt a little uncomfortable at times that the tires would hold.
After 6,000 miles and a Steve Wong Strut bar installed, the tires no longer feel spongy, in fact they are a great cornering tire! They are a little noisy for my taste, so I'm looking for quieter tires that perform well in wet conditions, just in case it ever rains again in Colorado.
I will start a new thread regarding this brand and model of tire. Sorry.

Here... Goodyear Eagle F1-GS-D3 tires for the Rota Fox 17"?

I estimate about 100-150 miles before the Autocross. I drove it as much as I could during that week. I did notice they were pretty squirrely they day I bought them, slippery as heck. When I left the tire place, I was squealing tires without even trying. Was funny.
