carbs for a 2.7

I am thinking of changing to carbs on my 2.7 so I can run a hotter cam. What would be a good baseline start as far as size, jets etc. I would bolt them on to my engine which currently has SC cams in it to make sure everything works, then pull the engine and swap cams. So I would need a setup to work in those parameters. Not sure on final cam choice yet.

Donnie:

The real limitation in cam choices in a CIS engine are the pistons.

Unless you change those to ones with double valve reliefs, you are stuck using the 964 cams.

will the 964 cams cause reverb on the airflow sensor plate in the CIS air meter?

I knew I should have changed pistons when I rebuilt it!

964 cams are the most aggressive ones that are still compatible with CIS,......

No worries, sir.

Steve, I have heard read on the engine board that a 964 cam will not clear the 2.7 CIS piston dome. I presume on the exhaust side. Can you confirm? It would be good information for the board. I am not sure if this is the 2.7 or the 2.7S piston.

Donnie. YOu could have valve pockets machined into your CIS pistons.
