It's alive!!!! 70T w/3.0
The neglected little 70 T is finally running after being implanted with a Weber'ed 80 3.0 and a 74 915. Pretty straighforward, just took a lot of time doing it solo. Thanks Grady, Jamie, Warren, Island and all the other for tech and moral support. The car has not run for several years and was last registered in 89.
A couple shots in late February: The trip home: In process: Today - the back and forth was me trying all the gears. The engine needs tuned - you'll hear some popping in the vid. |

That sounded like my old CIS 3.0 before I cured the intake leaks.
What is this car for?

I knew you would get it drivable today. Screw the work on the house. It is good to see that you have your priorities straight.

Are you going to add an external oil cooler?
The 70 didn't come with one, right?

Paul - I don't have any specific plans for it. I've always wanted to do a soft restoration and this one was right place, right time. I'll do an oil cooler if it's needed. The Webers will help it run some cooler than CIS would allow.

Mark, That's great!!! I can't wait to see it. Just let me know when you are ready to set up your webers. I can talk you through it pretty easily.
You will love driving this car. Too bad you were a day late. Saturday's drive was fantastic.

Mark,
Looks great, we will do the hill country again next year so you have fair warning to get it dialed in. Look forward to seeing it soon. Bob |

That is so cool!! You are the envy of many Pelicans. You have to take us on a longer video drive next time. That was a great tease though...

I thought you were trying to build your entry ticket to R-Gruppe.
We should start a TX-Gruppe. You can be king first, and then we violently depose you. Ed can be king next until we depose him. Vicious cycle.

I kinda like the TX-Gruppe thing. Except the violence part, particularly when it pertains to me.
He who has the fastest car is king....until he gets caught and deposed. It may be tough to catch Mark...

I want to be in the TX-Gruppe. Are you excluding people from other states?

We need a certain level of exclusivity. We'll only let people in that live in Texas and have Porsches. Of course, if they have other cool cars we'll let them join. Also, if they are cool and not from Texas, we might let them in.
Someone, please start working on a cool logo.
