Tonneau question(s)

I found a tonneau cover that would work perfect on my car. Only problem is it has no tennex recepticals installed on the tonneau cover. How difficult is it to install the recepticles on the cover? Can a layman perform the job?
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Here is how this tonneau cover is listed:
Porsche 911 Genuine Tonneau Cover in mint condition...
This Tonneau cover is for all 911 convertibles built 1984-1989 and may fit also any Porsche 964 and 993 Convertible. It's a genuine Porsche part and the color code is 7JW callled black / blue (looks like navy blue, there is only one blue color, so you can't be wrong). This cover comes out of an Porsche 911 convertible built in 1987. It looks like it was never used. i tried to put it on the car but i didn't figured out how it works. It looks like there are supposed to be some knobs to clip it to the folding top and the dashboard, but there are no knobs anywhere on the cover... Just look at the pics, what you see is what you get...

Again. This is a genuine Porsche part from 1987. No aftermarket prouction. It looks like never used, but because of the age i list it as a used item. The car was originally delivered with this cover and these things are extremely rare. I had many convertibles in the past, but this is the first time one comes with a genuine Tonneau cover...

I have a tonneau I picked up over the past year or so for my '84. My '84 came to me with the Tenax fasteners already in-place on the dash, with little vanity covers over them.

If you need pics or anything, let me know.

I'm looking at possibly replacing a couple of the ones in the back as they're starting to get worn down / flat spotted.

Fred,
Thanks for the reply; but my question is with regards to the Tennex receivers or recepticles which are a part of the tonneau cover, and not the posts which are secured to the car.
Anyone have any other comments or thoughts?
I am trying to make sense of what is claimed to be an "OEM" tonneau which does not have the Tennex receivers / recepticles in place on the tonneau cover. Anyone have any experience with this? Is the tonneau OEM or Aftermarket?

I don't think it's a factory cover. The cars supplied with the cover had all the fasteners in place and never came blank.

Could it be a replacement that was never installed?

As I remember the fasteners are easy. Punch your hole, the tennex are not rivits, they have a top and bottom which screw together pinching the material in the middle. There are two holes to twist the bottom, I used a small needle nose pliars and did OK. When you fit the top a little loose is ok and the material does shrink with time, but to tight is a PITA. Hope this helps. Glenn
