LM1 RPM signal - HELP!!!

I was trying to setup my LM1 RPM signal for hours.

I am not sure how to program the RPM converter.

I have '97 993 Vario EURO engine.

I am getting the signal from the DME. How many pulses per crank turn should I use? I tried 2, but I get a RPM reading which is to high - idle shows up as 1200RPM when my tach is showing 900RPM. Also the rev limitr RPM reading is 7600RPM. Basically RPM is too high all the way up.

Anyone knows what parameter should I use?

Thanks in advance

3 firing pulse per crank rotation on a 4 stroke 6 cylinder engine. I have an LM-1 and i think there was a chart in the instructions that breaks it down. If you don't have the RPM Converter user manual i can probably scan it and email it to you.

Paul, thanks for your reply.

I tried 3 pulse per crank rotation but I get a low RPM reading. The LM1 would read 700RPm at idle when my Tach is showing 900RPM.

Then I tried 2 1/2 pulses and the reading is closer. At idle it looks the same but I noticed that as RPM rise the LM1 reading is lower than the Tach. The cut off comes at 6400RPM when it is supposed to be at 6800RPM.

I am taking the RPM signal and ground from the OBD connector
Any ideas what could be wrong?

Thanks

For what it's worth, my tach shows a little higher than the LM-1, but the LM-1 agrees with my Motec, so i think that is right. I use the signal straight off of my tach wire.

For some reason i can't post a photo right now. If you PM your email address, i can send a scan of the auto set-up instructions.

my lm1 with rpm tach never worked fine
tried everything no luck

there are some threads on innovates forum about it
it's been a while, but i think some mention some soldering of resistors to get it to work properly , but my memory could be wrong on that...
